100,000 bags 1 crashed plane a weekend of non-stop work and another very happy customer!
We were commissioned to make 100,000 of the bags seen in the picture in Mid November 2009 for the “Shop West End – VIP day” with the event date being 5th December 2009. That’s a tall order seeing as the bags are made in Shenzhen and the amount of them. We mass produced the bags in just a few days. The project being overseen by Emma Beer – Director
Then the problems started. We pre-booked a cargo plane to fly the goods directly in one consignment. It crashed on take-off on the Saturday morning without loss of life. Emma worked tirelessly over the Weekend talking to our Shenzhen office and the cargo companies to get the goods booked onto another cargo plane and moving again, we only had a few days left until they were to be used at the event. Due to the unexpected late booking, the goods were actually split onto 4 cargo planes with the take-offs occurring over a couple of days. All the paperwork had to be amended as well.
As each plane landed we ferried the goods into the West End directly off the planes. The fourth and final shipment being literally delivered into the event on the day.
It goes without saying that due to Emma’s vast experience in moving global freight this would never have happened and the event would gone without the bags. She went to the greatest lengths to make this happen. I fear any other company would not have stood a chance. Our Chinese staff worked round the clock with Emma to make it happen.
